So far, 163 Palestinians have been killed and more than 1,000 injured while trying to get aid.
Cairo/Gaza: Israeli air and ground attacks killed at least 60 Palestinians on Wednesday, most of them people who had gathered near an aid center to collect food.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health and officials at Shifa and Al-Quds Hospital, 25 people were killed as they gathered near an aid center run by the US-Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) near Netzarim.
The Israeli army claimed that “warning shots” were fired at the suspects because they could pose a threat to the army.
Nasser Hospital in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis added that 14 Palestinians were also killed by Israeli gunfire near another GHF center in Rafah.
The foundation denied any knowledge of the incident, saying it was in contact with Israeli authorities and was working to secure the routes. It said 16 million food parcels had been distributed so far.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 163 Palestinians have been killed and more than 1,000 injured while trying to access aid from the GHF centers.
The United Nations has condemned the deaths and has refused to allow aid through the GHF, which it says violates international humanitarian law.
The French medical aid organization Medecins du Monde has accused Israel of committing a serious violation of international humanitarian law by launching a drone attack on its office. Eight people were killed in the attack, including no staff.
The organization said it had informed the Israeli military of the location of the office and that it was in a “de-conflicted” area, meaning it was safe and free from attack.
