Thousands of people from around the world have launched the “Global March to Gaza” against the siege of Gaza and Israeli atrocities.
This global initiative includes human rights organizations, labor unions, student organizations, doctors, and social activists from more than 50 countries who will march on foot from Cairo to the Rafah border.
The march aims to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Gaza, provide humanitarian aid, and end the Israeli blockade.
The convoy will hold a sit-in at the Rafah border on June 15 to pressure Egyptian and international authorities to allow more than 3,000 aid trucks to enter Gaza. All participants in this march are volunteers, who have joined it of their own free will.
The organizations participating in the march have made it clear that this campaign is purely humanitarian and has no connection to any political party or state.
The march will include protest camps, awareness-raising activities, and a global petition to Egyptian authorities and UN representatives demanding the immediate opening of the Rafah border.
A ground convoy has also set off from Tunisia to Gaza, including students, journalists, doctors, and participants of past solidarity missions. The convoy will travel through Libya to Cairo, the Egyptian capital, and then meet the global march at the Rafah border.
The organizers of the march say that this is not just a march to a border, but a call for humanity. People from all over the world are breaking their silence on Israel’s atrocities and sending a message that the people of Gaza are not alone.
