He may be called up for the series against South Africa after 6 months, reports say.
Mohammad Rizwan, who was dropped from the home series against Bangladesh, is likely to be ignored in the series against the West Indies as well.
According to media reports, Mohammad Haris’s exceptional performance in the home series against Bangladesh has increased Mohammad Rizwan’s worries, the selection committee now wants to give Rohail Nazir a chance in the West Indies and the tour of Bangladesh.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan can be seen in action in the series against South Africa, which is scheduled for the next 6 months.
The return of both in the T20 format seems difficult, if not impossible. The PCB has not yet issued any official notification about Sarfaraz Ahmed and Sikandar Bakht, who attended the selection committee meeting, nor has their responsibilities been determined.
According to the PCB website, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali and Hassan Cheema are still members of the selection committee. Sources say that Sarfaraz Ahmed and Sikandar Bakht have been given the task of monitoring the performance of the selectors and drawing the attention of the selectors to some neglected players. Both of them also attended these meetings in Islamabad and Lahore.
Meanwhile, Naseem Shah and Aamir Jamal are unfit and need some time to get fully fit. However, young fast bowler Ali Raza, who represents Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL, is unlikely to get a chance in the Pakistan cricket team because he has an eye disease for which he is taking time from an eye specialist to treat it.
The young fast bowler is having difficulty seeing the ball in floodlights.
A PCB source says that the official announcement of the appointments of Sarfaraz Ahmed and Sikandar Bakht is yet to be made.
