Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appointed Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi as the new Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
Following the Israeli attacks in Iran, there have been significant changes in the top military leadership. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has appointed Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi as the new Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
According to the Iranian news agency “Mehr News”, Mousavi has previously served as the commander of the Iranian army and has been assigned this responsibility in a critical situation of national security.
Under the same decree, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour has been appointed as the new commander of the Revolutionary Guards. He was previously the commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ ground forces.
Following the martyrdom of Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, Brigadier General Ali Shadmani has been promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed as the new commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya (PBUH) Central Headquarters.
These appointments come at a time when Israel has carried out major attacks on Iran’s nuclear and military sites in recent days, in which several senior Iranian military figures have been martyred.
These new appointments are considered part of Iran’s counter-strategy.
