Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that the main reason for division, chaos and violence in society is hate speech, which gives rise to such negative elements.
In her message on the International Day against Hate Speech, the Punjab Chief Minister said that hatred, prejudice and narrow-mindedness must be defeated on all fronts. The poison of hate speech gives rise to division, chaos and violence in societies.
She said that hate speech is not an attack on a single individual, it is an attack on the conscience of humanity. Islamophobia is the most dangerous form of hateful attitudes. The identity, mosques and homes of Muslims are made the target of hatred.
Maryam Nawaz said that the practice of hatred is a constant threat to world peace. The international community should hold those who spread hatred accountable in the name of freedom of expression. No one can be allowed to sow the seeds of hatred.
She said that love, tolerance and respect will be promoted in the dear homeland.
