The Election Tribunal had dismissed the petition against Lahore’s PP-145 constituency.
Laore: The Lahore High Court has issued a written decision on the petition against Samiullah Khan, husband of Election Tribunal Uzma Bukhari.
Justice Sultan Tanveer Ahmed issued an eight-page written decision. The Election Tribunal had dismissed the petition against Lahore’s PP-145 constituency.
The tribunal dismissed the petition as it was not filed in accordance with the law.
According to the written decision, the petitioner did not get the petition verified by the Oath Commissioner and did not file an application under Section 4 of the Election Act 2017, while sections 142 and 143 of the Election Act were not followed while filing the election petition.
The decision will say that there are many decisions of the Supreme Court related to election petitions, the tribunal dismisses the petition under Section 145 of the Election Act.
According to the petitioner, the results of 17 polling stations of PP-45 should be released as per Form 45. The petitioner requested that Form 45 of 17 polling stations be declared illegal.
It should be noted that PTI leader Yasir Gilani had challenged Samiullah Khan’s victory in the tribunal.
