Pakistan government says Pak-India war averted due to President Trump’s intervention
The Government of Pakistan has decided to formally nominate President Donald J. Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. The decision is in recognition of his decisive diplomatic intervention and key leadership during the recent Pakistan-India tensions.
According to the government statement, the international community witnessed the Indian aggression, which was a serious violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The aggression resulted in the loss of many innocent lives, including women, children and the elderly. Pakistan, exercising its right to self-defense, took a limited, concrete and precise military action under “Operation Banyan Marsus”, which was intended only to respond to the aggression and ensure its defense while avoiding further escalation.
At this critical juncture, President Trump, demonstrating extraordinary strategic and vision, engaged in intensive diplomatic engagements with Islamabad and New Delhi, resulting in a ceasefire and averting a potential major war. If this war had started, its effects could have been devastating not only for South Asia but also for the entire world.
The Government of Pakistan also appreciated President Trump’s offer of a peaceful resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue on this occasion. The statement said that the Kashmir dispute is the root cause of instability in South Asia, and its resolution must be in accordance with the UN resolutions.
President Trump’s leadership in the 2025 Pakistan-India tension has made clear his pragmatic diplomatic role and efforts to maintain peace. Pakistan hopes that these efforts of President Trump will be helpful in promoting peace and stability not only in South Asia but also in the Middle East, where urgent diplomatic measures are needed in view of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the escalating tensions with Iran.
