Iran is ready for talks, but Israel has no intention and neither does America, Salma Malik
Islamabad: Former US policy advisor Shahid Khan says that this is an extraordinary development and goes a long way in Pakistan’s favor. At present, the solo superpower that everyone looks to is certainly the US. A few months ago, when President Trump assumed the presidency, there was an impression that US-India relations would improve greatly because the Indian Prime Minister and the US President have personal relations, but this impression turned out to be wrong.
Speaking at the center stage of the program, he said that before the lunch hosted by the US President, there had been no such development in American history that the President personally invited the army chief of a country and gave him the protocol of a state guest. This is a matter of great honor for the state of Pakistan and the Pakistani people.
To a question, he said that the US certainly played a big role in ending the Pakistan-India war.
International affairs expert Salmi Malik said that Iran is ready for talks and is also holding talks with the foreign ministers of European countries, but unfortunately Israel has no intention and neither does America have the mood. If Iran declares a ceasefire on their terms, then it is fine, otherwise this war will continue.
He said that America is as involved in this war as Israel is. International affairs expert Ahmar Bilal Sufi said that there is no such provision in the Indus Waters Treaty that India can build a dam or divert water. Even if there is no such treaty, the upper riparians do not have any rights to divert water in any way under international law.
