Decision expected today to extend closure of Pakistani airspace for Indian aircraft for another month

The second phase of the ban is set to expire today.

Karachi: The government of Pakistan has decided to extend the closure of its airspace for Indian aircraft for another month. This decision will be made through a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued today.

It should be noted that Pakistani airspace was closed to Indian aircraft on April 24, after which it was extended for one month on May 23.

Now the NOTAM of the second phase of the ban is going to end today, and at its end, a NOTAM of the closure of the airspace for another month will be issued.

The NOTAM issued by the government of Pakistan will include details of the closure of Pakistani airspace for Indian air traffic. This ban was imposed in view of the current tension with India and its aim is to ensure the security of the airspace.

The closure of Pakistani airspace causes difficulty for Indian aircraft to pass through certain routes, this ban will apply to Indian aircraft, however, Pakistan’s airspace will remain open for other international flights.
