ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador met Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for peace in the region.
Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan Natalie Baker held an important meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in the federal capital, in which detailed discussions were held on Pak-US relations, issues of mutual interest and enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields.
During the meeting, cooperation in counter-terrorism and drug prevention was also discussed.
On this occasion, in the context of the regional situation, especially the Pakistan-India tension, the situation in the Middle East and the recent Iran-Israel ceasefire, the meeting of Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir with US President Donald Trump was also discussed in detail.
On this occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highly appreciated US President Donald Trump’s exceptional leadership, effective role and sincere efforts for the Iran-Israel ceasefire. He said that the way the US President played a positive role in the ceasefire between Iran and Israel after the Pakistan-India tension is commendable and will always be remembered.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed hope that President Trump would use his influence to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza as well. He said that the US President’s strong steps towards peace are commendable. He also stressed that Pakistan has always sought a peaceful resolution to all disputes, including Kashmir, and welcomes any initiative that promotes peace.
Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker also appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in the meeting and said that Pakistan is an important and reliable friend of the US. The US attaches special importance to its relations with Pakistan and values Islamabad’s efforts for peace in the region.
