Police became suspicious over contradictions in husband’s statement, Kalashnikov recovered, victim accused of wrongful association with a man
Charsadda: The body of a murdered girl recovered from a suitcase has been found. According to the police, the murderers are the deceased’s brother and husband.
On June 24, the city police immediately reached the spot after receiving information about the presence of a suspicious suitcase in the geological limits of the city police station of Charsadda, where the bomb disposal unit was also called as part of security measures. However, sadly, the body of a young girl was recovered from the suitcase, who had been brutally murdered by firing.
In view of the seriousness of the incident, District Police Officer Charsadda Suleman Zafar took immediate notice and formed a high-level team headed by SP Investigation Charsadda Sajjad Khan, which included DSP City Zardad Ali Khan, SHO City Bahramand Shah Khan, ASHO Bismillah Jan and other investigation officers.
The body was immediately shifted to DHQ Hospital Charsadda, where after the post-mortem, public help was sought on social media for identification. After some time, a man appeared at the police station and declared the body as his wife. However, the police found contradictions in his statements, on which he was included in the investigation.
During the investigation, the accused Ismail made a sensational revelation and confessed that he had killed his wife Mismat (F) along with her real brother. The reason for the enmity was stated to be that the victim allegedly had an improper relationship with a man named Qurban Ali, upon which both of them killed her in the name of honor.
On the identification of the accused Ismail, the Kalashnikov used in the incident was also recovered. Further investigation also revealed that the brothers of the victim had also killed the same man, Qurban Ali, in 2024.
