‘Modern features introduced in passport, Pakistan included in the 100 best countries in the index’

Soon, citizens will be able to get their passports made at home through the passport app, the journey of improvement in rankings will continue, DG Passport

The Henley Passport Index has released its ranking for the year 2025, in which the Pakistani passport has gradually improved and has entered the top 100 passports.

According to the report, the international ranking platform “Henley & Partners” said that the Pakistani passport is currently ranked 100th, which was at 113th place in 2021. This is a positive development that reflects Pakistan’s diplomatic activities and improvement in international relations at the global level.

In the latest development, an agreement has been signed between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan, according to which holders of diplomatic and official passports will not need a visa.

After this agreement, such persons will be relieved of the formalities required for visas before traveling, which will further strengthen diplomatic relations.

According to the report, citizens on Pakistani passports will also be able to get visa-free travel facility in 32 countries.

Reacting to this development, DG Passports congratulated the nation on the improvement in the passport ranking while expressing gratitude for the special cooperation of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Home Secretary.

Mustafa Jamal Qazi DG Passports said that modern security features have been introduced in the Pakistani passport, and e-gates will soon be available at all airports for e-passport holders.

He said that those coming to get their passports are being dealt with in a timely manner under modern facilities, passport bag locks are completely zero worldwide including Pakistan, online passport services are also being provided for Pakistanis, and the fee can be paid in seconds through the Passport Asan Fee app.

He said that soon citizens will be able to get their passports made at home through the Passport app, and the journey of improving the passport ranking will continue with the cooperation of the Ministry of Interior.
