Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also called Grossi’s potential visit “meaningless” and “malicious.”
Iran has banned the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, from visiting its nuclear facilities. This was revealed by the deputy speaker of the Iranian parliament, Hamid Reza Haji Babaei.
According to him, this decision was made because the information given to the IAEA regarding Iranian facilities was leaked through Israel, which is a security threat to Iran.
The deputy speaker added that now the IAEA will not even be allowed to install surveillance cameras at Iranian facilities.
On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also described Grossi’s possible visit as “meaningless” and “malicious”.
Rafael Grossi had expressed his desire to inspect these sites in recent days after the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, to which Iran reacted strongly and decided to end complete cooperation.
Earlier, the Iranian parliament had approved a bill to suspend cooperation with the IAEA, and the speaker of the parliament had described Grossi as “the protector of Israel”.
