Israel claims to have killed top Hamas and Hezbollah leaders

Israel says Hakim Issa targeted during Gaza City operation

The Israeli military has claimed to have killed the founding leader of the Palestinian organization Hamas, Hakeem Muhammad Issa al-Issa, and the senior commander of the Lebanese organization Hezbollah, Abbas al-Hassan Wehbi, in airstrikes.

According to Qatari broadcaster Al-Jazeera, Israel said that Hakeem Issa was targeted during the operation in Gaza City, who was among the key founding leaders of Hamas’s military wing. According to the statement, he was also involved in the planning and practical implementation of the October 7 attacks.

The Israeli military claims that Hakeem Issa played a key role in strengthening Hamas’s military capabilities, having also served as the head of the training headquarters and a member of the General Security Council. However, Hamas has not yet confirmed or denied this claim.

Meanwhile, in a separate airstrike in the southern Lebanese region of Mahrouna, the Israeli military claimed to have targeted Hezbollah commander Abbas al-Hassan Wehbi. According to the military, Wehbi was the intelligence chief in Hezbollah’s ‘Ridwan Force’ and was involved in efforts to reactivate the organization.

It should be remembered that Israel itself is violating the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon on a daily basis, which human rights organizations are constantly expressing concern about.
