British singers’ US visas revoked for chanting slogans against Israeli army

Pressure and censorship on pro-Palestinian voices is increasing in the US

The US government has revoked the visas of members of the famous British music band Bob Vylan for chanting slogans against the Israeli army and supporting Palestine during a music festival in the UK.

According to international news agencies, the band’s singer chanted slogans against Israeli aggression and supported the freedom of Palestine during a performance on stage at the Glastonbury Music Festival on Saturday.

The US Deputy Secretary of State said in a statement on social media: “Bob Vylan’s visas have been revoked after hate speeches and slogans at Glastonbury. Those who promote foreign hatred and violence will not be welcome in the United States.”

The British broadcaster BBC also admitted that the live broadcast of the band’s performance should have been stopped. The singer was clearly heard chanting slogans during the broadcast: “Death to the IDF” “From the river to the sea, Palestine will remain free.”

The move comes at a time when pressure and censorship on pro-Palestinian voices are increasing in the United States.
