I am not happy with Putin because Russian and Ukrainian soldiers are being killed in the thousands, US President
Washington: US President Donald Trump has approved a new shipment of US defensive weapons for Ukraine, sharply criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump has indicated that he is also considering tougher economic sanctions against Moscow.
Speaking during a cabinet meeting at the White House, President Trump expressed deep concern over the loss of human lives in the Russia-Ukraine war.
He said that he is not happy with Putin because Russian and Ukrainian soldiers are being killed in their thousands, and the Russian president seems to be very polite, but it is only based on show.
President Trump, indicating his support for a tough sanctions bill against Russia being considered in the Senate, said that he is seriously considering this bill.
The bill, introduced by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (South Carolina) and Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal (Connecticut), would impose an additional 500 percent tariff on countries buying oil, gas, uranium and other products from Russia.
It should be remembered that President Trump promised during the presidential campaign that he would end the Russia-Ukraine war in one day as soon as he came to power, but his efforts have not yet been successful.
