Without Chinese cooperation, India’s IT and electronics industry has been paralyzed.
The Modi government’s fabricated “Make in India” narrative has been exposed, exposing the artificial claim of India’s manufacturing economy to the world.
Without Chinese cooperation, India’s IT and electronics industry has been paralyzed, proving that the Modi government’s self-reliance is a mere slogan of deception.
It should be noted that over 100 Chinese experts have been recalled from India in the last 6 months and after the return of Chinese engineers, India’s iPhone production line has suffered from slowdown and failure.
According to the Press Reader, the return of Foxconn’s Chinese experts has dealt a severe blow to Apple’s hopes of expanding production and increasing revenue in India. Contrary to the Indian government’s claims, local assembly lines appeared to have failed to prove self-sufficiency in the absence of Chinese experts.
According to the report, value addition in India, i.e. “net profit”, is now directly linked to Chinese technical assistance. Foxconn’s Indian subsidiary, Rising Stars Hi-Tech, appears unable to meet production targets without Chinese experts.
The Press Reader report revealed that the target of manufacturing 80-90 million iPhones annually in India now seems like a mere estimate without Chinese experts. The withdrawal of Chinese engineers has made Apple’s long-term investment in India uncertain.
The report further states that India’s dream of a $500 billion electronics economy is far from reality without Chinese expertise. American, Vietnamese and Taiwanese experts have been brought in as substitutes while India has no trained local force, hence the reliance on foreign experts.
Despite the lofty claims of Indian authorities, the process of technical training has so far failed to achieve full autonomy. The withdrawal of Chinese leadership from Foxconn has exposed the reality of India’s hollow and inexperienced tech model.
The Modi government’s ‘Make in India’ proved to be just a slogan, and the dependence still remains on foreign products and experts. The Modi government’s false claims and failed policies are becoming suicidal for global investment in India.
