Anti-polio campaign: 45 million children administered polio drops

Repeated vaccination is essential for complete eradication of polio.

According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, more than 45 million children have been vaccinated against polio across the country during the recent polio campaign.

Minister of State for Health Dr. Mukhtar Bharath visited the National Emergency Operation Center Polio and reviewed the measures taken during the recent polio campaign. On this occasion, the Health Minister clarified during a briefing that “protecting children from polio is the top priority of the government.”

He said that repeated vaccination is essential for the complete eradication of polio, while routine vaccination is the fundamental right of every child.

Dr. Mukhtar Bharath clarified that improving immunization coverage is one of the government’s priorities. He directed that special attention be paid to increasing immunization coverage to eradicate polio, especially in high-risk areas.

The Health Minister also emphasized that vaccination of children who have missed out on vaccination should be ensured. “We are determined to make the country completely polio-free,” he said.

According to data released by the government, the recent campaign has made the vaccination process effective by paying special attention across the country. According to the Health Ministry, all relevant agencies are working together to eradicate polio and more steps are being taken in this regard.

Health experts say that public awareness and full cooperation of parents are necessary for the complete eradication of polio. The Health Ministry has appealed to the public to ensure that their children are vaccinated so that the country can be polio-free as soon as possible.
