BRICS Alliance calls on international community to: Negotiate in good faith for immediate, permanent and unconditional ceasefire
The BRICS, an alliance of emerging economies, has made it clear that the Gaza Strip is an “indivisible part of the occupied Palestinian territory” and should be united with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority.
The BRICS summit statement reaffirmed the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The statement said it was deeply concerned by Israel’s continued attacks, obstruction of humanitarian aid, and the use of famine as a weapon of war.
The BRICS called on the international community to: Negotiate in good faith for an immediate, permanent and unconditional ceasefire. Fully withdraw Israeli forces from Gaza and all other occupied Palestinian territories. Ensure the release of all prisoners and hostages. Ensure unhindered, continuous and free flow of humanitarian aid.
The summit also reiterated its support for full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations and said that a two-state solution is the only path to lasting peace.
