The statement comes at a time when US-brokered ceasefire talks are underway between Israel and Hamas.
London: Britain has warned that further measures will be taken against Israel if it backs down from the ceasefire in Gaza.
British Foreign Secretary David Lemmy, speaking in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the British Parliament, said that the statement of the Israeli Defense Minister could hinder the ceasefire efforts.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant had recently said that the two million population of Gaza should be moved to the southern region, to which the British Foreign Secretary reacted strongly.
David Lemmy said that “if Israel continues to insist on its position, then achieving a ceasefire in Gaza will become even more difficult.”
He clearly said that if Israel refuses to ceasefire and the situation worsens further, Britain will take further measures against Israel.
This statement came at a time when US-brokered ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas are ongoing, and talks are also underway on the withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza.
