CCTV has described this weapon as an effective means of crippling enemy command and control systems.
China has introduced a new weapon that can completely disable an enemy’s power plants without any explosion.
Chinese state media CCTV released an animated video on Thursday showing the capabilities of a new graphite bomb. The weapon, also known as a “blackout bomb”, targets power stations and high-voltage electrical systems.
According to the video, the missile is launched from the ground and into the air, releasing 90 small “submunitions”, which bounce upwards on impact and spread ultra-fine carbon fibers into the air. These fibers can short-circuit power lines and suspend entire systems.
CCTV described the weapon as an effective means of paralyzing enemy command and control systems, which can affect an area of about 10,000 square meters.
Interestingly, the actual name and technical details of this weapon were not revealed in the video, only calling it a locally made missile.
