Dera Ismail Khan: A platoon of Frontier Constabulary (FC) will be deployed at the residence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the Federal Interior Ministry has written a letter to the Commandant Frontier Constabulary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Dawn News, on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, it has been decided to deploy FC at the residence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the Federal Interior Ministry has written a letter to the Commandant FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sources say that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Maulana Fazlur Rehman a week and a half ago, the Prime Minister expressed concern over the attack on Fazlur Rehman’s son, the attempt to kidnap him.
FC will be deployed at Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence in DI Khan, a platoon of Frontier Constabulary will be deployed for security.
Sources say that the government has taken this decision to avoid any untoward incident.
It should be remembered that terrorist incidents have resurfaced in some districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Dera Ismail Khan is also among those cities where all political parties have expressed concern over the increasing incidents of insecurity and demanded that the government make extraordinary security arrangements.
Incidents of extortion from the business community have been reported in DI Khan, people from banned organizations often roam the city.
