Drugs worth over Rs 20 million seized from various cities

ANF ​​arrested 8 suspects during operations and registered cases

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted 7 successful operations against drug peddlers near educational institutions and in different cities of the country, in which 8 accused were arrested.

According to the ANF spokesperson, a total of 168.443 kg of drugs were recovered during these operations, worth more than Rs 23.4 million.

During an operation near a school in Marir Hassan area of ​​Rawalpindi, 105 ecstasy tablets weighing 55 grams were recovered from the possession of a suspect. The arrested suspect confessed that he used to sell these tablets to students of educational institutions.

988 grams of heroin was recovered from the luggage of a passenger going to Riyadh at Faisalabad International Airport. 5 kg of heroin and 3 drones were seized from 3 suspects in an operation on Kasur Road in Lahore.

Similarly, 3 kg of hashish was recovered from a vehicle near a courier office on Auto Bhan Road in Hyderabad and 3 suspects were arrested. 3 kg of heroin and 14.4 kg of hashish were seized from a vehicle near University Road in Peshawar.

30 kg of opium and 30 kg of hashish hidden for smuggling were recovered from Shahkas area (Khyber) in Peshawar itself, while 18 kg of hashish was recovered from Dawoodabad, Dalbandin area of ​​Chagai.

According to the ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered against all the arrested suspects under the Narcotics Control Act and further investigations have been initiated.
