The decision aims to provide better convenience to young and tech-savvy users who prefer digital currency.
Dubai: Dubai’s leading airline Emirates Airline and Dubai Duty Free have announced that they will soon introduce the facility of payment through cryptocurrency.
The decision is aimed at providing better convenience to young and tech-savvy customers who prefer digital currency.
The development came under an agreement (MoU) between Emirates and Crypto.com, which was signed in the presence of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
According to the agreement, customers will be able to pay for flights and duty-free purchases with Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies from next year.
The development came as the price of Bitcoin exceeded $ 112,000 for the first time. Dubai has already become the largest hub in the region for crypto investment, where more than $ 30 billion was invested in 2024.
The Dubai Land Department has already partnered with Crypto.com to incorporate blockchain into virtual real estate, and several major Dubai companies, such as real estate and telecoms firms, are already accepting crypto.
