India cannot and will not achieve its objectives through threats, misrepresentation or force, says Foreign Office spokesperson
ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office spokesperson said that the recent statements of the Indian leadership, including those made in Bihar, reflect a very worrying mindset and prefer hostility over peace.
Reacting to the recent provocative statements by the Indian leadership and the Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, the spokesperson said that any attempt to blame Pakistan for instability in the region is tantamount to turning one’s back on reality.
The spokesperson said that the international community is well aware of India’s record of supporting terrorism and engaging in subversive activities in Pakistan, and these facts cannot be hidden by hollow stories or attempts to divert attention.
He said that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains a fundamental threat to peace and stability in the region. Pakistan will continue its struggle for a just and lasting solution to this long-standing issue in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. Ignoring this fundamental issue is tantamount to putting the region on the path of mistrust and possible conflict.
The spokesperson said that the developments of the last few weeks have once again proven the failure of the strategy of war madness and coercion. India cannot and will not achieve its objectives through threats, misrepresentation or force.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan is committed to peace and constructive engagement, but is also determined to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression. Sustainable peace in South Asia requires seriousness, restraint and addressing the root causes of conflicts.
