According to Iranian officials, the US claims are baseless and there are serious doubts about America’s intentions regarding negotiations.
Iran has made it clear that it has not requested any talks from US officials after the war with Israel.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai told Tasnim News Agency that “We have not requested any meeting or talks from the US.”
The response came after US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran was willing to talk to the US after the recent war with Israel.
Trump told reporters during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House that “we have agreed to hold talks with Iran and they are ready to meet.”
However, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also rejected the claim, saying, “How can we trust a country that has recently carried out military operations against us?”
According to Iranian officials, the US claims are baseless and there are serious doubts about the US’s intention to resume talks.
It should be noted that on June 13, Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear and military sites, killing 1,060 people, while 28 Israelis were killed in Iran’s retaliatory drone and missile attacks.
