This move was taken as a result of concerns about the neutrality of the international organization after the Israel-Iran war.
Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga has formally enacted a law suspending cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
According to Iranian news agencies, the move was taken as a result of concerns over the international body’s neutral stance after the Iran-Israel war.
The Iranian parliament had already passed the bill, which was also endorsed by the Supreme National Security Council, and the president has now signed it into law.
According to the law, Iran will not allow IAEA inspectors to visit its nuclear facilities unless a completely professional approach is adopted.
According to sources, Iran is also considering banning IAEA chief Rafael Grossi from entering the country.
“We are requesting the Supreme Council to formally ban Rafael Grossi from entering the country, as his behavior is against Iran’s interests,” a senior Iranian parliamentarian said.
The Iranian parliament also says that a new bill is under consideration under which all cooperation with the IAEA will be suspended until the agency plays a completely impartial and transparent role.
