Israel carried out airstrikes against Iran late last night, targeting Iran’s nuclear program and dozens of other military targets.
British media reported, citing Iranian state television, that two senior nuclear scientists were killed in the Israeli airstrikes, who have been identified.
According to the report, one of the dead is Dr. Fereydoun Abbasi, who was the former head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), which is responsible for Iran’s nuclear facilities.
It should be remembered that Fereydoun Abbasi was also assassinated on a street in Tehran in 2010, in which he survived.
The other dead scientist is Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, who held the position of president of the Islamic Azad University in Tehran.
