Greta Thunberg has now safely returned to Sweden, while eight other activists remain in Israeli custody.
Paris/Stockholm: Prominent environmental activist Greta Thunberg has accused Israel of kidnapping her and other aid workers in international waters and forcibly transferring them to Israel.
According to the French news agency AFP, Greta Thunberg has now safely returned to Sweden, while eight other activists are being held in Israeli custody because they refused to leave Israel voluntarily.
The individuals have been brought before a tribunal to review their detention, as reported by the human rights organization “Adalah”.
Greta, 22, told the media at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport: “This is another deliberate violation of human rights, which has joined Israel’s long list.”
Upon her arrival in Stockholm, a journalist asked her if she was afraid when Israeli security forces boarded the boat. Greta’s answer was not broadcast at the time, but her strong protest was clear in her tone.
The ship was carrying aid for the besieged citizens of Gaza, who are suffering a severe humanitarian crisis due to the Israeli blockade.
