Request to postpone the hearing of the Power Division as soon as the hearing begins
Islamabad: K-Electric’s request for relief from FA to A has been postponed for a week in Nepra.
K-Electric has demanded a reduction of Rs 4.69 for April. As soon as the hearing began, the Power Division requested to postpone the hearing.
According to Power Division officials, a review application has been filed regarding K-Electric, the relief in FCA’s request will not be uniform tariff. The federal government has given a subsidy of Rs 21 billion towards FCA.
Officials said that we are in the IMF program and such measures will create difficulties, an attempt will be made to find fiscal space for adjustment.
The federal government has decided to publish the letter on the Nepra website for public comments, on the request of the Power Division, Nepra decided to issue the advertisement again.
Nepra officials said that the hearing will be held next week, all stakeholders should submit their comments, FCA hearings are public, the time of your application is very inappropriate.
During the hearing, Chairman Nepra raised the question of what is the relationship between FCA and subsidy? Where did the subsidy come from in the middle of FCA?
Officials of the Power Division said that we apologize and it took time to analyze. Chairman Nepra said that what is the method that the application comes during the hearing. The Power Division said that in the quarterly adjustment, a decision is also made apart from the actual reference.

Officials of the Power Division said that whenever a decision is made by the regulator, the amount set aside for the tariff is determined, a summary has been prepared to include FCA for the uniform tariff, the summary will go to the cabinet and if it is approved, today’s hearing may be ineffective, Rs 125 billion has still been set aside for such measures.
Chairman NEPRA said that how long can you stop this relief, what will you do after two, four, six months? Member NEPRA Punjab said that FCA is not uniform.
Chairman NEPRA said that the regulator has set a procedure for the hearing, advertisements are published in newspapers, citizens participate in the hearing, an attempt is being made to make the impression of public hearing very ineffective.
Reacting to the request to postpone the request of the Power Division, CEO K Electric said that K Electric will pass on whatever the NEPRA authority gives, K Electric’s FCA was positive in previous years, while the FCA of the rest of the discos was negative then.
CEO K Electric said that if consumers were getting expensive electricity, then why was there no impact on the tariff, we accept whatever decision the regulator takes while maintaining the requirements of justice.
