Karachi hit by earthquakes for third consecutive day, toll rises to 19, panic among citizens

The highest recorded earthquake was 3.6 magnitude, with a depth of 10 kilometers underground

Karachi: The number of earthquakes in the city has reached 19 in the last three days, with continuous earthquakes spreading fear and panic among the citizens.

The 19th earthquake in the city occurred at 11:34 pm, measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 30 km.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 15 km northeast of DHA City.

Earlier, an earthquake occurred in Korangi in the morning, measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 11 km underground.

According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake was recorded at 6:42 am, with its epicenter 29 km southwest of Korangi.

Similarly, tremors were felt in different areas of the city at 8:49 pm on Monday night.

Citizens of Landhi, Korangi, Malir and other areas felt the tremors of the earthquake and came out of their homes reciting the Kalima Tayyaba in fear.

The intensity of the earthquake was recorded as 3.0 on the Richter scale, while its depth was 13 kilometers underground and the epicenter was 30 kilometers east of DHA.

It should be noted that a series of earthquakes has started in Karachi since Sunday evening and so far the intensity of many tremors has been recorded as 3.2 on the Richter scale.

Experts have explained the scientific reason for these earthquakes and have said that citizens do not need to panic because now the series of aftershocks is going on which may continue for a few days.

At 12:00 at night, earthquake tremors were felt once again in different areas of Landhi Sherpao Quaidabad Muhammad Nagar. Cracks appeared on the walls of several houses, while women, the elderly and children took refuge in the park and the call to prayer began to be given in the mosques of the area.
