Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government decides to convene an all-party conference on the law and order situation

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) on the law and order situation in the province.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on the law and order situation in the merged districts including North and South Waziristan, in which the concerned members of the provincial cabinet and senior government officials participated.

In the meeting, it was decided to formulate a joint and agreed action plan of all schools of thought and the public to eliminate terrorism and to form a government representative delegation. The delegation will visit all areas and further intensify the public consultation process.

During the meeting, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister also decided to convene an All Parties Conference to formulate a joint action plan. Invitations will be sent to the parliamentary leaders of all political parties in this regard.

Ali Amin Gandapur said that beyond politics, all political parties should adopt a common strategy for establishing peace and order from one platform, public representatives should speak one language and ensure the implementation of the strategy to eliminate terrorism, lasting peace can be established only through meaningful steps, mutual consultation and unanimous decisions.

He said that an emergency meeting of MNAs and MPs from the merged districts was also called.
