Rahul Gandhi calls caste-based census the need of the hour
Under Modi rule, minorities and the skilled classes are being left out of the race for development, their political voice has been suppressed and the axis of power has become only a few powerful classes.
The backward classes have been reduced to a vote bank in the Modi government, whose voice is neither heard in Parliament nor reflected in government policies.
Modi’s famous slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ has actually proven to be ‘Raj of a few, exploitation of the rest’ and this slogan is nothing more than a political drama.
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi met representatives of the Indian skilled class in which these representatives expressed deep disappointment over the continuous political and social neglect by the Modi government.
These representatives said that there is neither a representative nor a platform available to listen to our problems and find solutions to them. They said that we are not being allowed to move forward in India, we have no effective representation in the media, bureaucracy, education and corporate sector.
The representatives complained that in the name of industrial development, the Modi government has snatched away the skills and traditional livelihood of the Vishwakarma community, due to which the new generation has become severely unemployed.
Rahul Gandhi and the Indian National Congress have once again reiterated the demand for a caste-based census to ensure equal participation of all classes, including OBCs. Rahul Gandhi said that ‘as much as there is population, as much as there is right’. This fight is not just about right but also about identity.
Rahul Gandhi said that the day the ‘caste scum’ comes to the table, the reality of the system will be exposed to everyone. He said that giving legitimate representation, participation and rights to every class according to its population is true democracy.
Rahul Gandhi made it clear that we stand with the skilled people of this nation in their struggle for respect and equality and are determined to provide them justice.
