NASA’s space mission departures now decided to be shown live on Netflix

NASA to shut down NASA TV in 2024 to focus entirely on streaming

The US space agency’s decision to live-stream mission launches is a significant step that reflects both NASA’s new strategy and Netflix’s content diversity.

NASA has also decided to live-stream its live streaming service NASA+ on Netflix, through which rocket launches, spacewalks, and live views of Earth from the ISS will reach Netflix subscribers at no additional charge.

The move aims to expand NASA content to more than 700 million global viewers, while NASA already offers it for free and without ads on its website, app, and other platforms.

NASA closed NASA TV in 2024 to focus entirely on streaming and is now aligning itself with new media platforms. Because the agency believes that Netflix’s global reach will bring NASA missions to more people. It will inspire both education and entertainment.

Subscribers will be able to easily watch it with science and fiction streaming on the NASA+ channel in the Netflix app.
