Helped in action against threats to global peace like ISIS Khorasan
The Commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), General Michael Eric Corella, has appreciated Pakistan’s role in the war on terrorism.
According to the World News Agency, General Michael Eric expressed these views at a meeting of the US Senate Armed Services Committee on the fight against terrorism.
While giving a statement to the US Senate Armed Services Committee, General Michael Eric Corella called Pakistan an important partner of the United States in counter-terrorism.
He told the committee that the biggest threat globally is the terrorist organization ISIS Khorasan. Pakistan’s extraordinary partnership and cooperation helped in suppressing this group.
The American general further said that with Pakistan’s close intelligence cooperation, several ISIS Khorasan terrorists were killed and 5 wanted leaders were arrested.
General Corella said that Pakistan has achieved many important successes for the United States through intelligence sharing, including the arrest of the mastermind of the Abbey Gate bombing, Jafar.
It should be noted that ISIS Khorasan is a group formed in Afghanistan that has been involved in attacks on American soldiers, Taliban officials, and places of worship.
Several of the group’s fighters are on the US military’s most wanted list, and the US also needs the help of friendly countries to track them down.
