Pakistani envoy Asim Iftikhar strongly condemns attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities

Pakistan strongly supports Iran’s right to self-defense, says Pakistani envoy

Washington: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Security Council, Asim Iftikhar, strongly supported Pakistan’s principled position at the emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council and said that Pakistan will continue to fulfill its responsibilities for the promotion of international peace and security in accordance with the UN Charter.

Asim Iftikhar thanked the members of the Security Council and said that in the previous meeting, the members of the Council had warned of the dangers in the event of an escalation of tensions, however, peace efforts and diplomacy were ignored.

He added that Pakistan has always supported promoting diplomatic efforts to establish peace at the global level.

Asim Iftikhar strongly condemned the attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities and said that Pakistan fully supports Iran’s right to defend itself.

Expressing solidarity with Iran, he said that the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) were ignored in these attacks, which is a serious threat to world peace.

The Pakistani delegate demanded that the Security Council resolve this dispute through negotiations and diplomacy. He further said that Pakistan’s position is clear that the only solution to this issue is through peaceful negotiations.

Asim Iftikhar also said that Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister is active in promoting peace and is in touch with the heads of other countries in the region to resolve this crisis.

Asim Iftikhar said that Pakistan, as a member of the Security Council, is fulfilling all its duties responsibly and Pakistan wishes that the dispute be resolved only through negotiations.

He reiterated that Pakistan will play a full role in restoring peace at the global level.

He said that Pakistan is ready to take all possible steps to restore peace in this crisis and is firmly determined that its actions will be in accordance with international law.

Asim Iftikhar also condemned the attacks on Iran by the United States and said that such actions are a threat to global peace and stability. He reiterated that resolution of global disputes is possible only through dialogue and diplomacy.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative Asim Iftikhar further said that Pakistan’s position is clear that the use of force should be avoided in resolving global disputes and that peace efforts should be prioritized.
