If the court decision is not implemented, I am worried about the future of the Supreme Court, Faisal Siddiqui
The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan rejected the request to implement the decision to give seats to the PTI up to the limit of 39 members of the assembly.
During the hearing, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked that the Election Commission has declared 39 members as PTI.
Lawyer Faisal Siddiqui took the position that we were not given seats based on a ratio of 39 members.
DG Law Election Commission said that they will give seats based on a formula based on the total seats.
Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi inquired whether they have given them to others. DG Law Election Commission replied that they have not given them to anyone yet.
Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel said that out of 80 seats, 22 or 23 reserved seats are made. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked that when 39 members were declared as PTI, why were reserved seats not given in proportion to them?
The Election Commission lawyer took the position that Parliament made a law which said that if political affiliation is declared in the nomination papers, then there can be no change, the law has been applied from the past, we have also filed a review on this matter, which is pending.
Faisal Siddiqui argued that if the court decision is not implemented, then I am worried about the future of the Supreme Court.
