SIFC has given a new direction to development through transparency, timely decisions and facilitation of investment.
In the second year of the establishment of SIFC, the country has achieved significant achievements in the sectors of industry, tourism and privatization.
In the second year, BYD (Build Your Dreams) has partnered with local companies to manufacture electric vehicles in Pakistan, while the time for industrial approval under SIFC has been reduced by 35%, which has restored investor confidence.
Similarly, the expansion of Pakistani startup ‘Book Me’ in Saudi Arabia is the beginning of the global journey of Pakistani tourism technology with the efforts of SIFC. On the other hand, with the rehabilitation of 44 guesthouses in Gilgit-Baltistan, 4000 job opportunities have also been created under green tourism.
In addition, new examples of tourism development have been established through private partnerships in places like Keenjhar and Gorakh Hills in Sindh, while the facility of visa on arrival for 126 countries including the GCC has emerged as a major breakthrough in the promotion of tourism and investment.
During the two years of SIFC, interest from 7 international companies in the privatization of PIA, improvement in services and increase in revenue have been recorded. Similarly, the approval of the ‘G2G’ model for the privatization of distribution companies is also among the successes.
The preparation for outsourcing of Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore airports, the progress towards world-class services are also a part of these successes. SIFC has given a new direction to development through transparency, timely decisions and facilitation of investment.
