Karachi: Senior Provincial Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Inam Memon says that earlier there were two inspectors in the whole of Sindh who used to check the fitness of vehicles, but now the Sindh government has decided to purchase a missionary.
Speaking in the Sindh Assembly, he said that the fitness of vehicles is mandatory and the Transport Department is working on it. Earlier, fitness certificates were issued manually, no matter whether anyone saw the vehicle or not, the certificate was issued, but now the certificate is issued with a QR code.
Sharjeel Memon said that the Information Department has created an app on which more than one lakh people have registered, private and government organizations are posting their jobs on this app. Be it a plumber or an engineer, all job details are available.
He said that 7.2 million people have visited the iWork for Sindh app, anyone can register on this app for government and private jobs. Any government job post is posted there. Functions like Smart Job Alert, ACCV Builder are being introduced in it.
The senior provincial minister said that grants of Rs 297 million are being given to various associations and press clubs and other journalistic institutions.
He said that India is developing its narrative through the film industry. Pakistan, especially the Sindh government, has decided to present Pakistan’s narrative to the world through this sector.
Sharjeel Memon said that the Punjab government claimed the first EV bus, but we corrected that the first bus was ordered by the Sindh government and the Pink Bus service is not Pakistan but the first pink service in Asia.
He said that there was talk of giving pink scooties to women and 1,000 bikes to be given, 8,000 applications have been received but only 145 women’s driving licenses are valid. Now 8,000 women have applied for licenses with the traffic police. Pink buses, pink bikes and now pink taxis for women are also being brought.
The provincial minister said that one billion had been released to the contractor for the Red Line project.
