We will provide justice to the people, the first priority is to resolve public grievances, says Chief Justice of Pakistan

Peshawar: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi has said that we will provide justice to the people. Our first priority is to resolve public grievances.

Addressing the Peshawar High Court Bar, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi said that I congratulate the newly elected cabinet. No one can separate the bar and the bench.

He said that our every step will be for the rule of law. You should not forget your elders, the youth should follow their elders. The youth need to come forward. Support development projects. The Bar Association should support it, it will benefit everyone. He said that a court complex is being built in Peshawar.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan removed the microphones of all channels before his address. In his address, he added that our first priority is to resolve public grievances. We have had good lawyers, they were our leaders. The Chief Justice paid tribute to Abdul Latif Afridi, Barrister Zahoor-ul-Haq and other senior lawyers.

He said that steps are being taken to provide facilities to lawyers and judges. He is aware of the difficulties of the subordinate judiciary, and will bring justice to the people.

Later, Acting Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Syed Muhammad Atiq Shah, while addressing the gathering, said that the Chief Justice of Pakistan’s participation in the ceremony is commendable. We should take advantage of modern facilities, this is the need of the hour. We should strive for the supremacy of the rule of law.

He said that 236,000 cases are pending in the subordinate judiciary, which is a large number. Many cases are pending in family courts, we should pay attention to this. All bar associations should cooperate in disposing of cases quickly.

The Acting Chief Justice said that the bar and the judiciary should play their role in providing justice to the common people. Training of junior lawyers is being done in the Judicial Academy.
